In late 2021, Ford’s newly announced Mustang Mach-E GT will be available on the road and yesterday they announced what we can expect from the all-electric SUV. Additionally, customers placing orders can expect five year access to the FordPass Charging Network and one year free access to the popular IONITY network.
The new Ford Mustang Mach-E GT will feature class-leading performance, outpacing even its closest rivals. It features an impressive 465PS of power and all-wheel-drive, showcasing the true performance benefits we can expect from an all-electric powertrain.
An industry-leading ecosystem of chargers will support Mach-E GT drivers with integrated charging access across Europe. Ford says that its network has expanded by almost 25% in the last year and it now has 155,000 chargers placed throughout Europe.
Inspired by the spirited performance and driving characteristics of the original Mustang, the Mach-E GT provides one of the best electrified driving experiences on the road. It features 830nm of torque that is available independently to both the front and rear axles for sporty and responsive handling. It also matches the Tesla Model Y’s 0-62 performance, reaching the speed in just 3.7 seconds.
A special model wouldn’t be complete without a bespoke specification and Ford has sure made this one very special. The Mach-E GT features MagneRide adaptive suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, red-painted brake calipers and unique exterior colours including Grabber Blue and Cyber Orange.
Moving to the inside we find a 15.5 inch full HD touch display that supports a next-generation SYNC communication and entertainment system that learns from drivers behaviour and makes smart suggestions. You will also find Ford Performance seats and a unique steering wheel with unique suede inserts.
As standard the Mach-E GT features a 88KWh extended-range battery that can reach a targeted WLTP pure-electric driving range of up to 310 miles. This is supported by an Intelligent Range function that can more accurately predict battery range based on your past driving behaviour, as well as weather forecasts and crowdsourced data from other Mach-E vehicles.
“The new Mustang Mach-E GT shows what all-electric performance really looks like, but performance counts for nothing without the confidence to use it. Our charging initiatives mean Mustang Mach-E customers can enjoy the electrified Mustang driving experience with the knowledge that they can recharge quickly and easily across Europe,” said Stuart Rowley, president, Ford of Europe.
There is no word on how much the Ford Mustang Mach-E is expected to cost but you can expect an on-the-road price of around £60,000 when it launches late next year.
